The piaffe is a high school movement and the pinnacle of collection. It teaches the lowering of the haunches, strengthens back-, abdominal- and hindquarter musculature, improves balance and coordination, trains the carrying capacity and improves suppleness… The list seems endless.
In short: the piaffe trains the whole horse, it allows the horse to become more beautiful and prouder and contributes to gymnastisizing and long-term health. This is why the piaffe isn’t only useful for future Grand Prix horses, but for all horses. Especially the in-hand work offers many extra training possibilities for the young horse as well as the senior. We like to start the piaffe early, playfully with in-hand work and then we take a long time to develop it. In this course we begin with the basics of in-hand work with the young horse, leading to a step-by-step guide from in-hand work, to work under saddle, all the way to a beautiful, expressive, dance-like piaffe.
Bonus-Video: Andreas Hausberger, chief rider of the Spanish Riding School, has been regularly supporting us for many years. Here he presents the basis of classical dressage and his in-hand work.
