The HO-Weymouth has a slanted mouthpiece with a rounded and forward angled port. We often use this bit with “double bridle newbies” to familiarize the horses with the double bridle.
This unique Weymouth with its slanting mouthpiece and a smooth, rounded port is angled forward and reduces the pressure on the edges of the tongue. It is suitable for horses that dislike tongue pressure and brilliant for introducing a horse gently to a double bridle.
The pressure on the poll is comparatively low due to the short cheeks, but occurs more quickly. This enables fine, precise aids to be given by a soft, sensitive rider’s hand.
We use the HO-Weymouth by Sprenger for sensitive horses or to familiarize young horses with the double bridle.
